HIDEC School is planning to transition to a blended learning model for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Blended Learning combines the remote learning process with the option to return to a more traditional, in school instruction. Regardless of a family’s choice, students will continue to learn five days a week. Posted at the bottom of the page is a copy of our reopening plan organized by HIDEC’s “COVID Administration Team”. This document will continue to be reviewed and updated based on the information and guidance provided from the NYS/NYC DOH and NYS Education Department.
HIDEC’s Reopening Plan
The 2020-21 school year will be our time to recover, rebuild and renew the spirit of HIDEC. Working together, educators, therapists, students and families will continue to address upcoming challenges with resiliency, tenacity and determination. This document is intended to provide guidance to our families as we plan to reopen our school whether instruction occurs in person, remotely, or in some combination of the two. Specifically, the document outlines the essential elements that will include HIDEC’s reopening plan, as well as recommended best practices for moving forward in these incomparable times.
